About this tool
Zalgo text is that glitched, messy text full of strokes and marks spilling above, through and below the letters. It is also known as glitch text, cursed text, corrupted text, hacked text, creepy text or simply weird text. The effect is built with Unicode combining marks stacked on top of each character: it is not an installed font or an image, even though it is often called a Zalgo font, so you can copy and paste it straight into Instagram, WhatsApp, Discord, TikTok, Roblox, Free Fire and virtually any Unicode-friendly app or game.
Just type your phrase, choose where the marks show up (above, in the middle or below the letters) and adjust the intensity of the effect. You can create anything from a subtle glitch that stays easy to read to a completely corrupted text made for visual impact. Everything runs right in your browser, with no sign-up, no installation and no usage limits.
Styles you can create
Glitch text (light)
Use an intensity between 20% and 30% with the middle and above regions turned on. The letters pick up strokes and small distortions but stay readable. It is the ideal style for a bio, a display name or social media captions.
Cursed text
Intensity between 30% and 40% with the above and below regions turned on. The result looks like a rendering glitch, as if the app had crashed. It is the most requested look for gaming nicknames, statuses and profiles.
Creepy and scary text
Above 60% on all three regions. The marks overflow the line and invade the surrounding text, creating the classic scary text effect, popular in creepypastas, horror content and Halloween posts.
Corrupted and hacked text
Turn on advanced mode, push the middle region to the maximum and lower above and below. The strokes and bars concentrate over the letters and look like a corrupted file or a hacked terminal.
Demonic text (maximum)
All regions at 100%. The text is almost entirely buried under the Unicode marks. It is the most intense effect available and also the one most likely to be trimmed or simplified by some apps.

How to Use
Type your text
Write a name, phrase or nickname, up to 60 characters. The result updates automatically as you type.
Adjust the effect
Choose the regions you want to use (above, middle and below) and drag the intensity. For a different combination of marks, click Generate again; to control each layer separately, turn on advanced mode.

Questions and Answers
The field accepts up to 60 characters at a time. The limit exists because each letter can receive several stacked Unicode marks, and a very long text at high intensity gets heavy for the browser to render and for the destination field to accept. For names, nicknames and short phrases that is more than enough; for longer texts, generate them in parts.
Type your name in the field above, set the intensity between 30% and 40% and turn on the above and below regions. Then copy the result and paste it into the name field of the game or social network. It is worth testing a lighter effect first, since some games limit the number of characters or restrict certain Unicode marks.
In most cases, yes. WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord usually display the full effect. Instagram and TikTok may limit the line height in some fields, such as the bio and comments, making the effect look more compact. Some games and platforms strip part of the Unicode marks or show only the original letters.
Some apps filter Unicode combining marks for compatibility or character-limit reasons. Others simply reduce the line height, making the effect less intense. If that happens, lower the intensity or turn off one of the regions (above or below). Lighter effects tend to work on a wider range of platforms.
